Canton, MS – ASSET Engineering is proud to announce that one of our young electrical engineers, Jeff Jeffreys, has officially received his Professional Engineering (PE) license by the Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. This marks Mr. Jeffreys’ first licensure and promotion of his professional career with ASSET. To become licensed, prospective engineers must undergo and complete a number of steps. They must earn a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program, pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, complete four years of progressive engineering experience under a licensed PE, and pass the rigorous Principals and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.

Mr. Jeffreys comes to us from New Iberia, Louisiana, and is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has been with ASSET since 2018, where he was originally hired as a Graduate Engineer. During this time, Mr. Jeffreys gained valuable experience in the engineering of electrical distribution systems, battery energy storage development/integration, and high voltage substations. Mr. Jeffreys has executed his duties as an outstanding project engineer, and we could not be prouder of this key accomplishment.

One such project Mr. Jeffreys supported was for a 20MW utility-scale solar farm substation project in Virginia. In this role, he served as a Project Engineer that developed the relay settings and various electrical studies such as DC arc flash, MV collector systems, cable ampacity, and predictive/post-energization harmonic analyses.

Mr. Jeffreys is a high achiever who possesses remarkable technical knowledge. He supports our projects while performing to the highest standards of quality and ethics, and ASSET Engineering is proud to have him on the team as a certified Professional Engineer for the State of Mississippi. Mr. Jeffreys’ promotion from Graduate Engineer to Project Engineer is well-earned, and we are excited to witness his professional growth as an engineer.
