Experienced Strategic Planner Joins Expanding Electrical Engineering Firm
Canton, MS – ASSET Engineering, an engineering firm that specializes in power system designs and analysis, has recently hired Joe Herndon as the company’s newest Senior Project Manager. In this role, he will facilitate and encourage collaboration between project stakeholders, lead the effort to understand the client’s needs, and match the services offered at ASSET Engineering to ensure project success and client satisfaction. Herndon will also act as the single point of contact for a select client who is one of the company’s largest investor-owned electric utility clients.
After over 35 years of working in the electric utility industry, Joe Herndon retired from one of the largest utility companies in the Southeast. He has a rich career in fostering meaningful relationships, helping people innovate, problem solve, and provide exceptional services. In Herndon’s role there, his career spanned the distribution and the transmission side in both the engineering and leadership roles.
For the last 12+ years Herndon worked in supervisory/project management positions with responsibilities for managing large system projects that involved critical interactions of multiple areas i.e., distribution, substation, transmission lines, protection & control, and Right of Way Acquisitions.
Joe Herndon attended Jones Country Community College and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University. Herndon and his wife both hail form Taylorsville, Mississippi where they attended high school together. The pair has a three year-old grandson and a 6 month old granddaughter whom they love to spend time with. In Joe’s free time, he is an avid Mississippi State sports enthusiast and enjoys playing golf.
