ASSET Engineering Welcomes Caitlin Alvaranga as Protection and Control Lead Engineer
Ridgeland, MS – ASSET Engineering is excited to announce the hiring of Caitlin Alvaranga, who will serve as the new Protection and Control Lead Engineer in the Orlando, Florida office. Caitlin will be assisting in the protection and control design on ASSET’s many projects, as well as working to expand our location and market presence throughout Florida. Currently, Caitlin is working on the protection and control design of four solar greenfield projects for a renewable energy developer, the relay protection of a Synchronous Condenser System for a multinational power generation client, and a communication relay cabinet for a large-scale industrial facility. Apart from her projects, Caitlin is leading the growth effort to establish a branch office in Orlando.
Before joining ASSET Engineering, Caitlin, who has received her Drafting-AutoCAD Certification, worked as a Drafting Technician I-III. She quickly became an Engineer Technician I-III, where she supported project engineers on the development of complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communication systems, including AC one-line and three-line diagrams, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. Her high quality of work led to her receiving the role of Protection and Control Engineer II. Continuing to advance in her company, Caitlin became the Senior Protection and Control Engineer/ Team Lead, and then the Engineering Manager- Protection and Control. In this position, Caitlin was responsible for leading all aspects of engineering, drafting, and project management activities for her local office, as well as recruiting, training, developing and delivering technical solutions, and overseeing that all work follows the company’s policies and procedures and the client’s standards.
Caitlin was born and raised in Sanford, Florida and graduated from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico- Orlando Campus, where she graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. When she is not in the office, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and going to the beach. Caitlin also has two beloved sibling dachshunds. ASSET Engineering is so excited to welcome Caitlin to our team as our newest Protection and Control Lead Engineer. Her extensive experience and skills will undoubtedly help us in our future work and successes!
